We held the Regional Training Camps in Chico, California. Chico provides a nearly ideal place for the athletes to test their mettle against their own best times and rides and agianst each other. With temperatures of 100º or better every day, the heat alone makes the training and testing grueling and difficult on all of us, coaches included. 

Even considering the hardship, our racers all did very well and almost everyone met or exceeded their goals. Out of approximately 50 pre-selected participants each year, over 90% went onto racce at the national level. Some of those who did not were not old enoug although they met or exceeded national-level testing for their respective ages. Yeah, west coast racers are tough!
